Renaissance, Loire region, ca. 1570/80.
Walnut, bone and mother-of-pearl opulently inlaid as warriors, grotesque figures, birds, mythical creatures, cornucopias, vines and decorative frieze. Rectangular body on a straight frame and pillar legs. The upper section with a recessed double-door between four free-standing conical columns, the capitals carved with flowers. The lower section with two drawers and a double-door. Paneled sides. The door of the upper part opening up into a large compartment and four drawers.

The furniture on offer clearly shows the Moresque influence, which was very popular in France especially through the publication "La fleur de la science de portaiture et patrons de broderie façon arabique et italique" by Francesco di Pellegrino (d. 1552) from 1530.
