Dr. Federica Spadotto has confirmed the authenticity by means of a photograph, for which we would like to thank her. She compared these two characteristic works by Giacomo Guardi with two other works by the artist: The version of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, which is in the Morgan Library and Museum in New York (Inv. No. 1996.34, see Federica Spadotto: Giacomo Guardi, Soncino 2019, p. 292, Cat. No. 316) and the version of the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore that was auctioned in 1994 (Christie's, London, 05.07.1994, Lot No. 68, see ibid., p. 322, Cat. No. 405).
