BOULLE CLOCK with base,
Louis XV, the dial signed HELYE A PARIS, the movement signed J.BTE. HELYE A PARIS (Jean-Baptiste Helye, maître 1762), Paris ca. 1740/50.
Ebonized wood, gilt bronze, dark tortoiseshell and brass, finely inlaid in "première partie". Bronze dial with 25 enameled cartouches for hours in Roman numerals and minutes in Arabic numerals. 2 fine hands. Original movement with anchor escapement striking the ½-hour on bell. Gilt mounts and applications designed as flowers, cartouches, leaves and garlands. Alarm removed. Requires servicing.
