SEATED MEDICINE BUDDHA.Burma, 19th century. H 99 cm. Wood with gold lacquer over black lacquer. Extensively decorated with small polychrome glass plates. Bhaysajaguru is seated on a staggered throne, which becomes narrower in the middle, with the characteristic cherry plum in his right hand. The almost child-like face under the finely ridged curly hair-do has a friendly expression. On the front of the plinth: Benefactor inscription of a couple.

Holz mit Gold- über Schwarzlack. Aufwändig geschmückt mit polychromen Glasplättchen. Auf einem mehrfach getreppten, in der Mitte eingezogenen Thron sitzt Bhaysajaguru mit der charakteristischen Myrobalan-Frucht in der Rechten. Das fast kindliche Gesicht unter der fein genoppten Löckchenfrisur schaut freundlich. Stifterinschrift eines Ehepaares vorne am Sockel.
